About Robert “Bo” Briggs

Robert “Bo” Briggs is a sixth generation Ocalan. Bo graduated from Belleview High School in its first graduating class. While there, he was a 3-year golf team captain and 2-time Television Production Student of the Year. He went on to graduate from Florida State University with a double major in finance and marketing. He was active in his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, was an officer and member of the club water ski team, and participated in various other community, civic, and philanthropic activities. He continued his education at Stetson University College of Law, which, during his time there, was named the number one law school for trial advocacy. Bo received a “Certificate of Concentration” in Advocacy for his intensive skills-based curriculum. He was a member of the Student Bar Association and was Secretary of the Stetson Chapter of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Since law school he has served on the Florida Justice Association Young Lawyers Division Executive Board, was a founding organizer of the Marion County Justice Association, has volunteered for civil and legal programs, and was an associate in the D.R. Smith Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He served a three-year term on Florida’s Fifth Circuit Grievance Committee, eventually becoming its Chairman, and more recently was appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve on the Fifth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

In non-legal volunteer roles, he has served as President of the Metropolitan Ocala Rotary Club and is currently the Secretary of the Florida State Waterski Association. He proudly finished second in the 2023 Florida State Water Ski Championships but can’t match the results of his daughter Finley, who finished 10th in the country last year.

Bo and his wife Nadia have been blessed with three beautiful children, all of which bring immense pride in their own accomplishments on the lacrosse field, dance studio, and on the water.

Bo joined The Briggs Law Firm in 2005.
